From protecting ancient coastal rainforests to supporting research into cultural burning practices, Nature United works across BC to advance conservation and sustainable forest management through Indigenous-led projects. Each project is rooted in the Indigenous Nation’s vision for their communities and territory, supporting both ecosystem health and community prosperity.
We foster learning, connection and collaboration, while providing financial, strategic, and technical support. Our flexible, partnership-driven approach allows each initiative to progress at its own pace, providing targeted resources and support where and when most needed.
Together with our partners, we are shaping the future of forest management in BC —where ecosystems thrive, communities prosper and Indigenous leadership drives lasting change.
Kwiakah
Kwiakah Nation is pursuing a vision for regenerative forestry and conservation on their territory. We contribute technical, policy and legal expertise as well as funding to support the Nation to realize their vision of regenerative stewardship.

Clayoquot Sound
First Nations are protecting 76,000 hectares (188,000 acres) of old-growth forest and building a conservation economy rooted in their values. We support changes to forest management agreements and help establish long-term funding for stewardship.
Salmon Parks
The Salmon Parks initiative restores key salmon watersheds using Indigenous knowledge and science. We support the Salmon Parks Stewardship Society by providing strategic and financial support for capacity building and economic planning activities.

Kanaka Bar Band
Kanaka Bar is establishing the T’eqt’aqtn Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area across approx. 32,000 hectares (79,000 acres) of their lands. We support their research and engagement efforts that benefit current and future generations.
Great Bear Sea
In the Great Bear Sea, we work to advance Indigenous-led marine conservation through co-governance and long-term stewardship, anchored by a Project Finance for Permanence model that secures funding for durable conservation and sustainable management.

Great Bear Rainforest
Our work in the Great Bear Rainforest helps provide Nations with the tools, resources and support they need to secure conservation and sustainable resource management outcomes that contribute to resilient coastal communities.
