Biography
Sonia joined Nature United at the end of 2025 as Senior Associate Director of Philanthropy. Sonia works with donors and volunteers to secure philanthropic support for Nature United’s mission.
Sonia is a relationship fundraiser with more than 15 years of working with a variety of donors, individuals, families, foundations and corporations to support initiatives that are important to them. One thing that really excites Sonia is finding those points of intersection between the supporter’s goals and the organization’s needs. Before joining Nature United, Sonia worked with donors at the Canadian Red Cross to support emergency humanitarian response and long-term programming. Previous to that she also worked in University Advancement.
Sonia has a passion for humanity and wants to do everything she can to ensure that the next generations are still able to enjoy all the wonder nature provides. Sonia has a bachelor's degree in political science from University of Western Ontario and a graduate certificate in corporate communications from Seneca College. On the weekend you can find her enjoy the Niagara escarpment and volunteering in her community.
