Biography

Rita Fromholt started at Nature United in 2023 as the BC Program Project Manager. She plays a key role managing the implementation of our work in BC, supporting associated operations and administration and improving systems for working in a more coordinated and impactful way, with a particular focus on Indigenous-led improved forest management and conservation projects under the banner of our Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) work.

Previously, she held lead roles in a wide variety of mission-driven organizations including with World Tree, a social-enterprise focused on impact investing, ecotimber production, regenerative farming and carbon finance. Rita was also the project manager on the original campaign to protect the Great Bear Rainforest and was the founding employee at Ecotrust Canada. Her formal education includes an Honors BA in Communications from Simon Fraser University and an Accounting Technologist Diploma from the Certified General Accountants Association of BC.

Outside of work, Rita loves spending time on local beaches and trails with her chosen family, including her dog, Joey. She is an avid road cyclist, getting faster and stronger as she ages. Rita also volunteers extensively in her community, supporting organizations that promote feminine leadership, progressive politics and refugee sponsorship.
