Biography
Madhuri joined Nature United in 2023. In her role, she leads coordination activities for the Strategic Partnerships program, supports priority initiatives with background research, meetings briefings, event planning and project management, as well as advances cross-team integration and collaboration.
Prior to Nature United, Madhuri cultivated her passion for human rights, climate justice and preventing and ending violence against women and girls through her education and professional roles in Canada, Bangladesh, Australia and the United States. Her experience includes working in international development and policy research, strategic partnerships, reporting and communications across multiple NGOs in Bangladesh, at the UN Women headquarters in New York and with youth-led Canadian social impact organization BacharLorai. Her past research has focused on women's rights and autonomy, gender-based violence prevention and response strategies, sexual and reproductive health rights, rights-based sustainable development and improving access to justice and social support for historically marginalized groups and communities. She holds an M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Criminology Double Degree from the Australian National University (ANU).
