David Chaffin

David Chaffin leads Nature United's efforts to create a more resilient future for the people and nature of Canada’s boreal forest.  Prior to joining Nature United, Dave led for the U.S. office of the Forest Stewardship Council where he collaborated with major U.S. companies and leading environmental organizations to increase both the supply of, and demand for, FSC-certified products in the U.S. market. Dave is a PhD candidate in forest ecology and conservation at the University of Minnesota, where his dissertation research examines climate change adaptation strategies in Minnesota’s southern boreal forest. Prior to graduate school, Dave spent 12 years leading domestic and international brand advertising efforts for a diverse portfolio of corporate clients including BMW, General Mills and Nestle Purina.
