Shari Austin is CEO of Century Initiative, a non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting a bigger and bolder Canada. From 2015 to 2017, Shari was a consultant, advising clients on social and environmental policy and philanthropy. Shari retired from RBC in June 2015 after a 20-year career with the bank, spanning such diverse areas as payments, regulatory compliance, industry affairs, risk management and corporate citizenship. From 2008 to 2015, she was Vice President of Corporate Citizenship at RBC, and Executive Director of the RBC Foundation. In recognition of her contribution to environmental sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada, Shari was recognized as a member of Canada’s Clean 50 (2012). She also won the Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Corporate Responsibility (2014) from Green Living. Shari has a Master’s in Practicing Management from McGill University, an LL.B from the University of Ottawa, and a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Toronto, where she majored in Political Philosophy. She lives in Toronto.
